About Me
I am a historian with a broad range of interests from the medieval to the modern. I taught medieval global history as well as various historiographical courses at Oxford for over 5 years, and have extensive experience in helping students to develop the writing, research, communication, and critical thinking skills that are at the core of so many subjects.
I certainly don't have a traditional Oxford story - going from failing some of my A-Levels to a PhD at Oxford was quite the journey! Making space for all learners has been at the core of my teaching career. I assisted in the design and implementation of learning support frameworks for SEND students across multiple Oxford colleges, as well as working on the team which established Oxford's Astrophoria Foundation Year for more equitable access to Oxford. I am a firm believer that everyone's path is different, and that the right support and encouragement is important to empower potential.
I have extensive experience as an Oxford admissions tutor, responsible for interviews, candidate selection, and aptitude test assessment. I have supported multiple students from the UK, US, and EU to prepare for their applications and interviews at Oxford, Cambridge, and Russell Group universities. I specialise in helping students in the Humanities and Social Sciences to feel more confident in their preparation, providing learning support, extracurricular enrichment and opportunities for independent development. I am passionate about students achieving their goals while also deepening their love of learning, and I believe in the importance of a personalised, student-focused approach.
