About Me
Hi, I’m Anna — a fully qualified English teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience in the UK and Switzerland. I hold a PGCE in English from Durham University and have taught across mainstream and international schools, including College Champittet and Berlitz Language School.
I’m passionate about helping students grow in confidence and achieve their academic potential. Over the years, I’ve supported learners from diverse backgrounds — from early secondary through to IB Diploma level — including many EAL students. My lessons are structured yet engaging, with an emphasis on practical skills, clear feedback and personalised support.
As an examiner for both AQA GCSE English and the IB Diploma (English A: Language & Literature and Extended Essay), I provide unique insight into what examiners expect and how to meet or exceed those standards. My students consistently improve their grades and develop lasting confidence in reading, writing and critical thinking.
Tutor Experience
I have extensive experience teaching KS3–KS5 English Language and Literature, both in-person and online. My teaching career has included roles in UK state schools, private schools, international schools in Switzerland and specialist tutoring for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB Diploma students worldwide.
I’ve also worked closely with students who have additional learning needs (SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD), adapting resources and pacing to suit each learner’s strengths. Alongside my teaching, I provide exam-focused preparation, essay coaching and literacy support for younger learners.
My tutoring approach combines academic focus with encouragement and clarity, helping students not only achieve top results but also enjoy the subject.
