I’m a former Head of Sixth Form in British international education, with eight years’ experience as Head of English. I support students preparing for A Level English Literature and GCSE/IGCSE English Language and Literature, helping them develop the skills and confidence to achieve excellent results.

I particularly enjoy teaching A Level English Literature, developing students’ close-reading skills, their ability to construct cogent arguments informed by literary criticism, and their confidence in writing well-structured academic essays and dissertations. I also support university applications in the UK and internationally, with particular experience of UCAS, Parcoursup and the Common App.

My teaching combines strong subject knowledge with a thorough understanding of pedagogy and how students learn. My lessons have been graded ‘excellent’ by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. I have spoken at teacher-development conferences in the UK and internationally, and trained student teachers working towards their PGCE.

I am currently studying for a postgraduate degree in International Relations at the University of Cambridge. I also hold an MA in Contemporary Literature and a BA in English Literature, and have a strong working knowledge of French. My own continuing studies inform my approach to teaching, which combines warmth and intellectual rigour to help students grow in confidence and achieve strong results.
