I am a PhD Electrical Engineer specializing in Telecommunications and a University Instructor with over 17 years of teaching experience, including tenure as an Assistant Professor. I have taught thousands of engineering students and supervised graduate research, helping students master complex concepts in Telecommunications, Signals & Systems, and Digital Logic Design.
In addition to my university work, I specialize exclusively in preparing students for the Math section of competitive exams like the Digital SAT (using a structured, Desmos-driven approach). Whether you are an undergraduate struggling with signal processing or a high school student aiming for a top SAT score, I provide the clear, patient, and expert guidance you need to succeed.
I also support selected IB Mathematics students, particularly in Maths: Analysis and Approaches, drawing on my PhD in Electrical Engineering and 17+ years of university teaching in mathematics-intensive subjects such as signals, systems, telecommunications, calculus, complex numbers and problem-solving.
PhD Electrical Engineer and former university professor tutoring Digital SAT Math, undergraduate Electrical Engineering, and Engineering Mathematics. I combine 17+ years of university teaching experience with clear, structured online tutoring to help students build strong mathematical foundations, solve exam-style problems efficiently, and understand difficult concepts rather than relying on memorisation.
University Experience: University Instructor and former Assistant Professor. Taught core engineering modules including Telecommunications, Signals & Systems, Digital Logic Design, Engineering Mathematics and mathematics-heavy problem-solving courses to classes of 50+ students. PhD supervisor; guided graduate students through complex research projects and thesis writing.
Undergraduate Electrical Engineering: Specialist support in Signals and Systems, Telecommunications, Digital Logic, Engineering Mathematics and related mathematical foundations.
Digital SAT Math: I focus on the Digital SAT Math section only, including Desmos calculator strategies, Module 2 tactics, targeted weak-area repair, timing, accuracy and efficient exam-style practice.
IB Mathematics: I support selected IB Maths students, especially Maths: Analysis and Approaches, with topic understanding and exam-style problem solving.
Online Instruction: Experienced remote teacher using digital whiteboards and interactive tools to deliver clear, structured explanations.

--- SAT MATH SUCCESS ---
Kate (Parent of SAT Student)
"Ali has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter. In a very short timeframe he helped her significantly improve her Maths Digital SAT score by quickly identifying and working through her weak areas, teaching her how to use Desmos effectively and helping her maximise her time in the test. I would highly recommend him."
Irina (Parent of SAT Student)
"Good explanatory methods. Very kind and supportive teacher. Helps you understand how to use Desmos efficiently."

Berke (Signals & Systems)
"Dr. Ali is highly competent in his field and an instructor who truly loves his job. I took the Signals and Systems course with him and together we passed with an 'AA' [Top Grade]. Throughout the whole process, he supported me in every area and his willingness to teach was obvious. Anyone considering tutoring can choose Dr. Ali with complete peace of mind."
Ceren (Signals & Systems)
"Dr. Ali was incredibly helpful in passing my Signals and Systems course. He teaches in a very clear and efficient way. Beyond explaining the concepts perfectly, his focus on in-class problem-solving and discussions made learning so much easier. I could always get support on topics I didn't understand."
Yigit (Engineering / General)
"Our professor is so helpful. His teaching method is based on making the student truly grasp the topic and reinforcing it with examples. He is a very experienced educator. From now on, he is the first person I will reach out to whenever I struggle with my department courses. Thank you."
Ayshen (Engineering / General)
"A wonderful teacher! Thanks to him I finally understood electricity so well. Solving and discussing questions during the lesson, and being able to reach him whenever I needed help to discuss parts I didn't understand was truly amazing. I will definitely continue taking lessons next semester!"
