I am a Mathematics and Further Mathematics teacher at Dulwich International High School in Suzhou, China. Until the summer of 2023 I was an A-level Maths and Further Maths teacher at MPW Cambridge Fifth and Sixth Form College, which is one of the UK’s leading independent sixth form colleges, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in all areas, and placed by the Department for Education in the top 1% of all schools and colleges in England for value-added at A level. Before joining MPW Cambridge, I worked at Luton Sixth Form College, which is the oldest sixth form college in the country (est.1966) and has a reputation as one of the top performing colleges in the UK.
My other interests include actuarial mathematics, piano and ballroom dancing.
I am currently teaching the Edexcel International A-level Maths and Further Maths modules at Dulwich International High School in Suzhou, China. Until June 2023 I had been teaching the new 2017 Edexcel A-level Maths and Further Maths curriculum with FM options FS1 and FM1 at MPW Cambridge. Previously I had also taught Edexcel AS Mathematics/C1, C2, S1, D1, FP1 and A2 Mathematics/C3, C4, FP2-3, S2, AQA A2 Mathematics/M2 and OCR AS Mathematics/C2, S1 and A2 Mathematics/C3, C4. I had been an Easter revision tutor too for the new A-level Maths course at MPW Cambridge. Before joining MPW in January 2015, I had taught OCR AS/C1, C2, FP1, S1, D1 and A2/C3, C4 at Luton Sixth Form College.
A-level Maths and Further Maths (Edexcel, OCR, AQA, MEI)
Maybe use different exam questions apart from the ones on Dr Frost Maths powerpoint, otherwise great lesson
Very kind and explains well
Very patient !
Great teaching style went through everything in detail
I hope you have been having a great summer! As you may know, I've got an A in my A-level Math... I just wanted to say thank you for all your patience, support and help during the school year. Thank you very much!'
'Thank you for being so supportive throughout my journey at MPW, I couldn't have done it without you! Have a great summer and I look forward to getting my results in August. Thanks!'
'I think it is time to bid my last farewell and have this time to thank you for all your sacrifice, patient, and effort in my education. Throughout my 13 years of learning, I have never met such a passionate teacher whose entire focus was on delivering knowledge and improving students' performance in maths. When I decided to take Further Mathematics as my A-level subject, I was overwhelmed by the complexity of Maths. However, your individual approach to every student made our academic paths easier and successful. I appreciate your discipline, strict planning, and your idea of using Microsoft OneNote. It was a pleasure to post hard questions in a discussion forum, knowing that Yusuf will explain and help in advance.
Overall, I am sure that my mathematics background and knowledge became more solid; therefore, I am fully confident about taking my next step at university.
An enormous thank you, Yusuf'
'Please note that since I completed a first year at Hills Road doing further maths I also have notes stored here from my time there. Most of these will be replaced as I think your revision notes are better (they are currently in the other folder until I work out how to organize them.)'
'Thank you for being such an amazing teacher! .... I am very well aware that I wouldn't have gotten my excellent results if not for the great support you've given me. I really appreciated it when you offered to give me one-to-one catch up for the maths lessons that clashed with my other classes. The A* and A I got allowed me to study my favourite engineering course at Loughborough.'
