About Me
I have worked as a qualified Science/Biology teacher and private tutor in the UK and abroad for 11 years. I am a hard working mum of 2 with a passion for Science and Education. I am currently conducting a doctorate in Education at the University of Reading (UK).
Tutor Experience
I have taught at a total of 3 mainstream high schools/6th forms. Over the 11 years of teaching I have taught Triple and combined Science, GCSE Biology, and AS/A2 Level Biology. In my most recent school I have developed my online teaching strategies and obtained an effective way of engaging my students through online learning. I believe I can make learning less challenging and WILL bring out the BEST in my students! I teach my students the real understanding of Biology that will stick with them.
Topic Expertise
I am also a current edexcel examiner and specialise in teaching my students excellent exam techniques.
I have excellent experience on explaining and exploring A level photosynthesis and respiration! The 2 main topics in which students find difficult.

I had Derya as a tutor close to my A-level Biology (Edexcel B) to help revise and work on exam technique. She really knows the syllabus and the mark schemes inside out! She was very patient, and always organised and punctual. She also communicates very well what the examiners are looking for, and helped me to see what clues the context and the question provide.
