About Me

I have been very successful in my academic life passing maths O and A level maths with grade As a year early at schools where this had never been achieved. I then went on to attain a first class honours degree and PhD in maths.

Outside of maths I enjoy exercising, usually weight lifting or walking.

Tutor Experience

I qualified as a secondary school teacher and went into private tutoring.

Over the last 10 years I have successfully tutored many students to their required grades at A level maths and further maths and GCSE maths both online and face to face.

I have also helped many students pass the step and mat University entrance papers.
At a higher level I've been successful tutoring students from undergraduate maths and engineering courses

My approach is to be very patient with my students and to reinforce the concepts they have learnt at school. While doing this I try to link current work with previous work as maths is a subject where a good understanding of previous topics aids the assimilation of the newer ones.

Finally, although not formally setting homework, I always encourage my students to put in practice the concepts we go through by going through some questions. Free of charge i look at their work so I can assess how the student is progressing towards the mastering the topic .

Topic Expertise

My expertise is in maths. I can cover all exam boards from GCSE to A level and IB and university entrance exams (STEP MAT). will also be willing to look at undergraduate maths.
