I have charted an unconventional academic path: having been home-educated until age 16, I excelled at A-Level and graduated from Balliol College, Oxford with First Class Honours in PPE. I then moved to Munich to take up the Maximilianeum Exchange Scholarship, and then to Sydney, Australia as Governor Phillip Scholar. I will soon be returning to Oxford to start my DPhil in Politics.
I believe my diverse educational background gives me a unique perspective as a tutor: I have a strong appreciation for the value of one-to-one learning, and the unique needs and strengths of every individual student. I have also developed the skills and mentality to succeed academically, as well as a passion for learning that is reflected in my teaching.
I have tutored Economics and Politics at A-Level (with multiple exam boards) to numerous students of different ages and capabilities. I have also provided Oxford and Cambridge admissions tutoring, including support with the Thinking Skills Assessment, help with drafting writing personal statements, and mock interviews. I have tutored online through six platforms and as a residential summer mentor at Oxford International College, and have >2000 hours of total experience as of October 2025.
I specialise in supporting students with essay technique, and in helping students to grasp difficult areas of the syllabus by connecting challenging concepts with common-sense intuitions.
Very good session, lots of information
The class was excellent
Great class
This class was very good as Leo is very knowledgeable and equipped in being able to explain economic concepts. He also kept me engaged throughout the lesson which is a very valuable skill.
It was Great to work with leo this summer, who improved my confidence in structuring essays and developed key diagram knowledge in economics
Time passes so nicely in class, its fun and I learn a lot.
Leo's help was really great and useful.
Explained questions clearly, helped me think logically.
Very helpful and effective in improving the personal statement. Perfect balance of helping with the statement but not spoon-feeding and doing everything for you.
Hi. Thank you very much for the introductory chat. I was expecting more of a run through, almost a taster on how to answer the longer style questions.
