About Me

My passion is to support anxious parents and students; challenge high achievers and motivate underachievers to reach their full potential.

As a qualified and experienced teacher, I am efficient and organised and relate very well to young students. I am successfully able to establish appropriate boundaries and relations with my students.

Tutor Experience

I have over 12 years’ experience as a secondary school English Teacher and Head of Year and am currently working as an English Supply Teacher for a Harris Academy as well as a Private Tutor, with over 300+ hours’ worth of tutoring experience across KS2-KS4.

I have marked GCSE papers on behalf of the AQA Examination board and will be marking on their behalf this Summer. I am also familiar with the Cambridge iGCSE and EdExcel Examination boards.

As well as GCSE students, I am able to support KS2 and KS3 students in all aspects of their English studies.

I have worked with students who have a wide range of Special Education Needs i.e. Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Hearing Impairment, SLCN, SEMH, SpLD and MLD.

Topic Expertise

I excel in helping students to exceed their target grades in GCSE English Language and English Literature. I am also very confident with the expectations and criteria for the Speaking and Listening component of the examination.

My tutoring style offers bespoke support to increase confidence in students' ability to express themselves and communicate effectively through different mediums, inside and outside of education.

I value the necessity to instil confidence and self-esteem in students by listening to them; building rapport and meeting their learning style/needs, to assist them in reaching their full potential.
