About Me
I worked in the field of human genetics research after graduating from University before moving into sixth form teaching in A level Biology. I have 20 years of teaching experience and have run an online A level tutoring business in the UK for the last 4 years.
I have a great passion for Biology and I enjoy supporting students to achieve high grades. I use a combination of diagrams and real life examples of medical application to help students remember concepts and key words.
I have a broad experience of exam boards and teach AQA, OCR, Edexcel A and B, WJEC and also Edexcel International
In my spare time I enjoy crossfit, hiking and paddleboarding as I live near a beach.
Tutor Experience
I worked in a secondary school teaching all science subjects up to GCSE for two years after completing my PGCE in secondary science. I then moved into sixth form teaching and worked at 3 different colleges teaching A level Biology & forensic science to 16-18 year olds and Physiology at degree level.
I enjoy finding out how different learners retain and apply information and I tailor my teaching to different learning styles. I am supportive and assess my students in a relaxed environment, giving students useful feedback which helps them to improve their application in exam situations.
A levels are demanding and my role is to encourage, support and deliver concepts in Biology in an understandable way that is both enjoyable and helpful
