About Me

Hello! I am originally from the United Kingdom. I spent my younger years in Liverpool and then I moved to London in my twenties. In my thirties I have lived in Thailand, Germany and now I am based in Luxembourg. I studied Geography at University and then I completed the PGCE for secondary teaching in Geography. This wonderful career has allowed me to work in several countries, which is an amazing experience. Travelling has given me an enhanced view of the world and it has enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the core themes of geography; space, place and interconnectedness. I enjoy using my personal experiences and ideas in my lessons and discussing complex themes with my students.

Tutor Experience

I worked as a teacher in the UK for seven years. I have experience in both the private and the state systems, teaching Geography to KS3, GCSE and A level students. My first two jobs were temporary contracts, the first was in Leighton Park School in Reading (a Quaker boarding school), my second was in Fulham Cross Girls School in London (state girls school). I then found a permanent job in Slough, where I stayed for two years. Keen to get back to London I then started working in Leighton Park School in Clapham. After three years there I then decided to persue my dream of teaching internationally. I was offered a job in Thailand and so I moved there! In Garden International School I taught KS3, IGCSE and IB. Two years in Asia was enough for me so I decided to move back to Europe. My dream was to work in Berlin and fortunately I was offered a job in Berlin Brandenburg International School (BBIS). here I taught MYP and IB. Lastly, after falling in love with a man from Luxembourg I decided to move there. I spent the last three years working in St Georges International School, where I taught KS3, IGCSE and Cambridge International A levels.
My approach to teaching is to be firm but fair. I have high expectations of myself and my students. I want my students to enjoy their lessons, but I am also very focused on getting the best results. Tutoring is rather new to me, I have done some here and there over the years but never full time. I am now taking a year out from teaching in schools and thus I now have more time to be a tutor.
