I am, unashamedly, a proper nerd. Alongside my professional interest in economics, I have long-standing interests in moral and political philosophy, Kierkegaard and the intriguing stories of the English civil war. If a book has been written about it, I am most likely interested!

For close to a decade, tutoring has been a central part of my life. From Danish A-levels and Oxbridge admissions to classroom-style teaching and old-school one-to-one Oxford tutorials, I’ve taught it all.
The single most important question for me is: what is your goal? If you’re worried about passing an exam, we’ll go through past papers, identify the structure and build a clear structure within which you can succeed. If your focus is deepening your understanding and seeing the bigger picture, we’ll explore the big questions together, reading the key pieces of literature and setting aside ample time to deliberate together. Wherever you want to go, I have the tools to get you there.
An area I particularly enjoy is scientific programming. If you are working on an empirical research project or thesis, I would love to work through your R/Python/MATLAB code with you. Crafting code that elegantly does what you want and is easy to troubleshoot and update is, to me, an art form.
At university, I can teach all core subjects: macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics. Additionally, I can teach mathematical and coding-based methods papers as well as financial economics, corporate finance and industrial organisation. Occasionally, I tutor more essay-based subjects like development economics or environmental economics.
For applications, I specialise in Oxford applications and provide all-round support across TSA, personal statement, interview preparation, profile building etc.
Really bad technical issues at the startr, delayed by about 20 mins, unable to hear or see the tutor.
So far Troels has been an exceptional tutor. Highly qualified , engaged and kind.

In the summer of 2024, I finished my MPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford. Prior to that, I earned a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Economics from the University of Southern Denmark. Professionally, I have applied economics as an analyst and developer at Jyske Bank, focusing on corporate finance and strategy, as an adviser to a party in the Danish Parliament and currently as a tax policy analyst for the Danish Confederation of Industry.
At Oxford, I’ve taught and marked a range of subjects, including ‘Introductory Economics’, ‘Introduction to Probability and Statistics’, ‘Core Microeconomics’ and ‘Quantitative Economics’. At the University of Southern Denmark, I taught ‘Welfare Economics and Tax Policy’ for Economics majors and the microeconomics component of ‘Economic Principles and Policy’ for Political Science majors. I’ve also taught dozens of students for Danish A-levels and tutored for Oxbridge admissions. Since 2025, I have served as an examiner at the University of Copenhagen in economics.
While my main focus is economics, I’m also happy to teach mathematical or programming-based subjects as needed. For example, I’ve taught ‘Operations Research’ to an engineer at master’s level and a Python-based ‘Statistics and Data Science’ course to an undergraduate in Experimental Psychology.
