About Me

I am, unashamedly, a proper nerd. Alongside my professional interest in economics, I have long-standing interests in moral and political philosophy, Kierkegaard and the intriguing stories of the English civil war. If a book has been written about it, I am most likely interested!

Tutor Experience

For close to a decade, tutoring has been a central part of my life. From Danish A-levels to Oxbridge admissions, classroom style teaching and old-school 1:1 Oxford tutorials, I've taught it all.

The single most important question for me is: what is YOUR goal? If you're worried about passing an exam, we'll go through past papers, identify the structure and build a clear structure within which you can succeed. If your focus is deepening your understanding and seeing the bigger picture, we'll explore the big questions together, reading the key pieces of literature and setting aside ample time for deliberating together. Whereever you want to go, I have the tools to get you there.

An area I particularly enjoy is scientific programming. If you are working on an empirical research project or thesis, I would love to work through your R/Python/Matlab code with you. Crafting code that elegantely does what you want and is easy to troubleshoot and update is, to me, an artform.

Topic Expertise

For A-level, I can teach all things economics and mathematics. I have particular experience from the Danish system, but am eager to dig deeper into the British.

At university, I can teach all core subjects: macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics. Additionally, I can teach mathematical and coding-based methods papers. I have some experience with financial economics and operations research.

Qualifications

This summer, I'm finishing my MPhil in Economics from Oxford. Previous to that, I have a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford and a B.Sc. in Economics from University of Southern Denmark. Professionally, I have applied economics as an analyst and developer at Jyske Bank focusing on corporate finance and strategy and as an advisor to a party in the Danish parliament.

At Oxford, I've taught and marked a range of subjects, covering 'Introductory Economics', 'Introduction to Probability and Statistics', 'Core Microeconomics' and 'Quantitative Economics'. At University of Southern Denmark, I taught 'Welfare Economics and Tax Policy' for Economics majors the microeconomic leg of 'Economic Principles and Policy' for Political Science majors. I've also taught dozen of students for Danish A-levels as well as tutored for Oxbridge admissions.

While my main focus is economics, I am also happy to teach mathematical or programming-based subjects as needed. For example, I've taught 'Operations Research' to an engineer at masters level and a Python-based 'Statistics and Data Science' course to an undergrad in Experimental Psychology.
