About Me
I am a very creative person, with a love for singing, musical theatre, and writing poetry and spoken word. I also enjoy drawing portraits and editing videos in my spare time. I love to combine this creativity with my passion for Science.
I also love travelling - I have travelled to various places in Europe, North America and Africa, and look forward to exploring other continents in the future.
Tutor Experience
I have been a Science teacher and tutor for over 9 years, having worked with students of various abilities and backgrounds, including home schooled students and those with special educational needs. I have taught all sciences up to GCSE Level, specialising in Biology at A Level, in a number of schools in London and the South East of England.
I have been recognised for achieving the highest progress in KS4 biology across the schools in my academy trust, and have also held a position as Manager of Sixth Form; I have, therefore, had many years of experience helping students pastorally as well as academically.
I take a collaborative approach to teaching - I am not there to feed you the answers, but to help you digest the information in a way that suits you personally, while also teaching you the skills to help yourself continually improve even when I am not there. I am always happy to take questions outside sessions to clarify any concepts, and to adjust the content of lessons based on areas of weakness we identify in the course of the week. I also regularly set homework tasks based on your needs to help you continually progress. I am flexible in my teaching style and will always adapt to suit your needs. I am a big believer in the need to not only teach subject content, but to also teach students how to effectively learn independently.
I have taught all the major exam boards in Science (AQA, OCR, Edexcel) and have helped many students improve by an average of 2 grades in a matter of months, with all my exam class students meeting or exceeding their predicted grades.
