Hello, I'm Thespina. I believe every student can succeed in Psychology with the right support, encouragement and exam strategies. My aim is to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building their confidence and developing a genuine understanding of the subject.
Every lesson is tailored to the individual student. Whether you're studying IB, A Level or GCSE Psychology, striving for a top grade, catching up after falling behind, or preparing for your final exams, I'll adapt my teaching to your goals, learning style and pace. I focus on making complex ideas easy to understand while helping students develop the analytical and exam-writing skills needed to perform at their best.
I genuinely enjoy seeing students grow in confidence and independence, and there's nothing more rewarding than watching them realise they are capable of achieving more than they thought possible.
I have over 20 years' teaching experience, with particular expertise in International Baccalaureate Psychology, alongside extensive experience teaching Psychology at GCSE and A Level across all major UK exam boards. During my career, I have taught in the UK, UAE and Bermuda, working with students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and supporting learners with diverse abilities, aspirations and learning styles.
As well as teaching in the classroom, I have held leadership roles including Head of Department and IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, giving me a thorough understanding of the IB curriculum, assessment requirements and the skills students need to succeed.
In recent years, I have expanded my work beyond the classroom by providing online tutoring, mentoring and academic support to students internationally. I also author curriculum, textbooks and assessment materials for organisations including INTO University Partnerships and EdQwest, ensuring my knowledge of the latest IB Psychology syllabus and examination requirements remains current.
Whether a student is aiming for a grade 7 in IB Psychology, a top grade at GCSE or A Level, preparing for final examinations, improving essay-writing skills or simply building confidence in Psychology, I provide personalised support tailored to their individual goals and learning needs.
My specialist areas include:
IB Psychology (SL & HL) – Comprehensive support across the full syllabus, including all four contexts, Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Internal Assessment.
IB Examination Preparation – Developing effective exam technique, essay structure, application of research, critical thinking and time management.
Internal Assessment (IA) – Guidance on research design, analysis, evaluation and meeting IB assessment criteria.
Extended Essay (Psychology) – Support with research questions, planning, structure, critical analysis and academic writing.
A Level & GCSE Psychology – Support across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge International, covering subject knowledge, application, research methods and examination technique.
Revision Planning and Study Skills – Helping students organise their revision, identify knowledge gaps and study more effectively.
Confidence Building – Supporting students who feel overwhelmed, have fallen behind or lack confidence in their abilities.
Personalised Learning – Tailoring lessons to each student's learning style, pace and individual goals, whether they are aiming to improve their understanding or achieve the highest grades.
