About Me

Hello, it’s lovely to meet you.

I offer specialised tutoring for GCSE and A-Level History, Religious Studies, Philosophy and and English Literature and Language (ages 13–18), with extensive experience across multiple exam boards, including OCR, Edexcel, Eduqas, IGCSE, and AQA.

Additionally, I am adept at advising on examination techniques, particularly for students requiring extra provisions such as working with readers and scribes, extra time and rest breaks, ensuring tailored support to enhance performance and confidence. I have experience working with students who have Education and Healthcare Plans from a unique perspective, as I too had an EHCP throughout my secondary education.

I hold a first-class degree in Religion, Philosophy, and Ethics from King’s College London, alongside a Master’s degree in Religion. I am currently a PhD Researcher at Lancaster University. I have extensive experience tutoring students with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, and Autism. My teaching methodology prioritises confidence-building and is tailored to accommodate the unique learning styles and needs of each student.

I am particularly committed to providing tailored tutoring in English and History for learners of all ages, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As a student with Dyslexia and ADHD myself, I am dedicated to making education accessible, engaging, and enriching for every student. My experience encompasses supporting individuals with dyslexia, ADHD, chronic physical and mental health conditions, as well as managing exam-related stress and anxiety.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your learning goals!

Tutor Experience

I have over 600 hours of private tutoring experience working with students online and in person. I have experience with SEND and EHCP provision and teaching, and the extra level of responsibility involved with this process.

My teaching style focuses on building confidence first, in the educational setting and holistically. I have unique personal experience that allows me to not only work as a subject tutor but also have a pastoral role with my students. Within this, my mantra is that education and learning should always be done with the student, not to the student. Thus, I focus on understanding how each individual student learns and on improving their confidence first and foremost. I have found that this approach has, to date, allowed me to aide my students in achieving two or more grade boundary jumps in exam settings.

Topic Expertise

In terms of SEND, I have expertise in tutoring students with Dyslexia, ADHD and AuADHD. I have experience and knowledge in helping students manage exam-related anxiety and stress. I have experience in helping students manage physical chronic disability and ill health in the education setting and of EHCP provision.

Academically, I am currently researching the relationship between Flannery O'Connor and Original Sin. My further education, and therefore my expertise, are grounded in Theology, Literature, Philosophy, and History.

Testimonials

Giorgia is an excellent teacher, and we are so lucky to have found her. She is flexible and able to adapt her teaching methods to suit the student, but at the same time direct about what can be achieved. She is excellent with neurodivergent students, and is able to inspire, encourage and motivate them to want to do well for themselves. She has managed to improve my daughter's results by 2 grades, and a large part of it is due to her dedication compassion and empathy. She is also a very lovely individual.

I had Giorgia for Year 13 A Level Philosophy, and she was amazing! She explains things so clearly and always makes sure you understand before moving on. Her encouragement and care really boosted my confidence, and she created such a comfortable space to learn and ask questions. I honestly couldn't recommend her enough!

Fantastic, Giorgia has boosted my daughter's self confidence and reduced her anxiety massively. My daughter is now preparing for her exams and is having extra sessions with Giorgia at her request as she feels the way Giorgia teaches she understands. Once my daughter has completed her GCSE's I will be using Giorgia for my son also! Definitely recommend!

Giorgia is very bright, organised, highly skilled tutor with a lovely warm nature. I was looking for a tutor to support my daughter in her second year of A'levels (English Literature, Film Studies and Drama). My daughter is dyslexic and uses a scribe in exams. It was becoming apparent that she needed to improve her skills of using a scribe as it's very different to write an essay and speak an essay. Giorgia has personally used a scribe herself and it was this skill - among many others that she has - that swung it for us that she was the right tutor for my daughter.

We chose Giorgia as a tutor for our 17-year-old son (CB), helping him prepare for a third attempt at his English Language GCSE, having twice failed very closely. Her teaching style is very much confidence-based which was essential for us. Not only did our son need to pass the exam, but he needed to believe he could - which Giorgia helped tremendously with. In addition to helping him improve the core skills he needed for his English study, she worked extremely hard to foster some level of enjoyment for the subject. In CB's case, it was important to change his mindset that English simply wasn't for him. Something we liked from the very beginning was Giorgia's ethos that we should not focus simply on obtaining a pass, but on CB working to get the maximum grade he could achieve. We feel this mindset was vital and think it no coincidence that he achieved Level 3 at his first 2 attempts but has now passed with a strong Level 6. Overall we felt that Giorgia was extremely well qualified to tutor our son, we are delighted with his results and would have no hesitation in recommending her.

I can't thank Giorgia enough for the support and tuition she gave my son with his GCSE English Literature tuition. Giorgia made everything make sense. He went into his exam with confidence and actually achieved 2 grades higher than predicted. Thanks again!
