Online English Language Tutor Ailish

Hi! As you might expect from a language, literature and ToK teacher, I love to read. In fact, I got into teaching as a career because I enjoyed being a volunteer reading mentor for young readers in my local library, so chose to retrain as a teacher in my mid 20s. Over twenty years later, I am still happily teaching and tutoring, and still enjoy working with all the young learners I am privileged to meet through my work.
Besides reading, I love walking the coastline with my partner and our dog. I love swimming, stand up paddle and surfing (poorly, but it's about the fun so I am ok with that). I also enjoy live music of most genres, watching great films and spending time with family and friends. I continue to volunteer in different ways; most recently, I taught English as a Foreign Language to adult learners.
At the moment, I am learning to cultivate houseplants, grow vegetables and edit books, none of which is easy but each are rewarding in their own ways, like all learning.
