About Me
Hello! I'm James, a Canadian educator with more than 25 years of teaching experience across universities, international schools, and online classrooms. My career has taken me to Canada, Guatemala, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines, where I've taught students from a wide range of cultural and academic backgrounds.
For over eleven years, I was an Associate Professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in South Korea, teaching Economics, International Business, Finance, Financial Literacy, and Business Management. I have also authored twelve university textbooks, published academic research, and mentored students with research papers, dissertations, and university applications.
Before joining HUFS, I developed A-Level and IGCSE Economics programmes at an international school in Kazakhstan and taught Mathematics and Science in Guatemala. Today, I work with students preparing for AP, IB, A-Level, IGCSE, SAT, SSAT, university courses, and professional qualifications.
My teaching philosophy is simple: understanding comes before memorisation. I help students build confidence by breaking complex ideas into clear, logical steps and using practical, real-world examples.
