About Me
Arran is a British ESL teacher and translator living in Italy. She received a double first in French and Italian from the University of Warwick and was also a partial scholarship student on her translation and interpreting MA at the University of Leeds. With a solid background teaching IELTS-based English courses at university and many years of private tuition under her belt, she is passionate about teaching languages. Her success boils down to these ingredients: excellent subject knowledge, a desire to empower, adaptability, creativity and empathy, whether teaching heads of art galleries or university students.

-Hundreds upon hundreds of hours of general English lessons (Italy, Wales). The students range from primary school age to retirement, with walks of life as varied as art gallery director and stay-at-home mum. Naturally, my approach varies according to the student and their goals but it is underpinned by my training in the communicative approach. I have experience teaching with IELTS, Cambridge English and NGL Life materials.
-Tutored a French girl in various subjects (phonics, reading, writing, English, maths, geography) who attended St George's British International School, Rome (1.5 years)
