About Me

I am a full-time economics, statistics, mathematics, philosophy and psychology tutor, a Cambridge and UCL graduate, and an academic researcher. As well as two Master's degrees, in maths and philosophy, I also hold one PhD in the philosophy of maths, which focused on probabilistic arguments, and a second PhD on welfare, economics and psychology, which looked at well-being in the context of rational deliberation.

I am an experienced, reliable, and punctual tutor who delivers a personalised service, catering to the individual needs of my students in an engaging way. I have a large range of ready-made resources and extra problems and notes that I share with my students to foster their success.

I am looking to build new relationships with students for online tuition.

Tutor Experience

For the past sixteen years, I have provided tuition in economics, statistics, mathematics, psychology, and philosophy on a full-time basis, ranging from KS1 all the way through to PhD level. I have also provided coaching for Oxbridge interviews through the charity Teach First.

I have taught students from various universities including Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, and Harvard. I have also led undergraduate classes at UCL in logic and philosophy, and am a senior mentor for the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust.

Client Reviews

The key concepts were highlighted well, and we were discussing the concepts from the beginning, right to the end of class. Very happy.

- Economics

Was a super insightful session, I must thank Don for his patience as I had trouble understanding the topic. After a long discussion, we discovered it's due to my lack of understanding of vectors, we proceeded to break that idea down further and then went back to the main question. I am super happy with the outcome of this class.

- Economics

Pretty much exactly what I expected - although I am probably quite an odd case, all things considered!

- Philosophy

The teaching style was great, and explained the content very well. The visuals were extremely helpful to my understanding as well as thoughtful approach of reading the class materials beforehand. Thank you

- Maths

It was a nice first session, he adapted well to my questions and to what I already knew/still needed help with

- Maths

Don has helped me tremendously throughout the past few months to prepare for my Econometrics final exam. Don's explanations are a lot clearer than ones presented in my lectures, and he always makes an effort to explain challenging topics in an easier to interpret way.

Testimonials

Sallondon
Excellent, adaptable and highly dedicated tutor
Don skillfully steered our daughter through the materials in a complex game theory/public choice theory module in which she lacked any background. She found him highly knowledgeable and patient and methodical. She enjoyed the sessions and built confidence. He was indispensible in helping her through the module.
