About Me

Before my career in tuition and education consultancy, I studied at Girton College at the University of Cambridge, where I read MA Modern and Medieval Languages and MPhil Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic from 2018 to 2023. During my undergraduate I studied French and German, with a focus on historical and comparative linguistics and spent a year abroad at the University of Strasbourg, studying Russian, Dutch, and Swedish, alongside comparative linguistic research. Following my interests in Germanic philology, I stayed at Cambridge for my MPhil in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, continuing further study of Old Norse and Old English alongside a dissertation on Reflexives and Self in Old English, Old High German, and Old Saxon.

Tutor Experience

Following graduation, I took up various professional, full-time roles in education consultancy, leading in-house support for personal statements, admissions tests, and interviews at hundreds of schools across the UK and around the world. I’ve delivered presentations on Oxbridge applications, preparation, and strategy to thousands of students and have designed and delivered training to help teachers at some of the UK’s top independent schools better support their own students with university applications. I’ve personally consulted with hundreds of students for (almost!) every subject at Oxbridge and have supported applicants across languages, linguistics, literature, ASNC, and history through the entire application process, from course, university, and college selection, to supercurricular engagement, admissions tests, personal statements, written work, and mock interviews, as well as tutored A-level English, French, and German to dozens of students.

Topic Expertise

I provide strategic support and initial consultations for students applying to the full range of undergraduate subjects at Oxford and Cambridge, as well as supporting students applying for undergraduate courses across the arts and humanities with supercurricular engagement, personal statements, written work, and mock interviews, with a particular focus on Modern (& Medieval) Languages, AMES, Linguistics, and ASNC. I have taught the Oxford MLAT and LAT from 2022 until their discontinuation this year, and continue to teach the Cambridge college-registered MML and Linguistics admissions assessments, as well as the Classics Language Aptitude Assessment Interview for applicants without Latin or Greek. I support students applying for postgraduate courses within languages, linguistics, and ASNC, and provide academic proofreading and editing for PhD theses and articles across the arts and humanities. I also teach Old English and Old Norse to interested students and adult learners.
