About Me
I've always loved History because every topic tells a story. That's the approach I bring to my lessons, making the past engaging, memorable and relevant, rather than something to simply memorise. My goal is to help students build confidence, enjoy learning and feel proud of what they achieve.
I'm a qualified Secondary History teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and six years of teaching experience, specialising in GCSE and A Level History, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation. I believe the best learning happens when lessons feel like a conversation rather than a lecture. I'm patient, approachable and have a good sense of humour, creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their understanding.
Outside of teaching, I'm fascinated by the ancient world, particularly Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt and Greek mythology. I also love reading fantasy novels and I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I enjoy stories that immerse you in another world, and I try to bring that same sense of curiosity and excitement into my History lessons.
If I hadn't become a teacher, I think I would have been a detective! I love analysing historical sources as if they're pieces of evidence in an investigation, encouraging students to think critically, question interpretations and uncover the bigger picture for themselves.

Tutor Experience
I have over five years of experience working in secondary education and currently serve as Head of Year 7. Since qualifying as a teacher in 2022, I have taught History across Key Stages 3 and 4 and have held a number of pastoral and leadership positions, including Assistant Head of Year 11 and Study Skills Lead.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have extensive experience supporting students through targeted intervention and revision programmes. As Study Skills Lead, I delivered study skills sessions to examination classes, helping students develop effective revision strategies, essay-writing techniques and independent learning habits to maximise their performance.
I also have experience delivering online lessons and adapting teaching to suit remote learning environments. I use a range of digital resources and interactive approaches to ensure lessons remain engaging, accessible and tailored to each student's individual needs. My tutoring focuses on building confidence, strengthening subject knowledge and developing the exam skills necessary for success in History, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation at GCSE and A Level.
