About Me
I am married with two daughters, one of whom is studying mathematics at university.
In my spare time I enjoy running, reading, cycling and cricket. I have a holiday home in Kashmir and enjoy spending time there.
Tutor Experience
I am a very experienced mathematics educator. I taught for 8 years at two selective grammar schools, 8 years at a college of further education and 18 years as a tutor.
My lessons are always delivered at the student's ability level. I have endless patience and encourage my tutees to ask questions to increase understanding. I can teach as requested by students or design a scheme of lessons that will best help them to achieve the required outcome.
I have also been a GCSE examiner since 2026.
Topic Expertise
GCSE and iGCSE maths year 7 to 11. Experienced at helping those who struggle with basics all the way upto grade 9 students.
A-level maths: Pure, Mechanics and Statistics. Since the start of the new examination syllabus in 2017 many of my students have achieved grades A /B.
11+, 13+ and Common Entrance Exams and SATS.
Adult learners numeracy, those studying for access to university type courses.
I can also help engineering students with the mathematical content of their degree programme.
