I have been teaching economics A level for over 30 years in an interactive and student-centred fashion, helping students to understand why things work the way they do rather than just accepting them as facts

I am a passionate teacher of economics and believe both that it is a critically important subject in the modern world and that everyone should be able to understand it. Although state school educated myself, I have worked successfully in the independent sector for the whole of my teaching career, delivering top results both in absolute and value added terms
I have taught A level economics since 1988 in small groups and one to one in the independent school sector. I am an experienced Principal Examiner and hence have insights into the examining and marking process that help students to maximise their potential. My approach is centred on the belief that if students don't understand something, then that's my fault not theirs and I have developed a wide range of different approaches to build understanding based on students' own approaches to learning.
I have always taught the entire of A level economics and can cover any exam board. My primary expertise is with Edexcel/Pearson and WJEC/Eduqas but the underlying principles of economics are the same regardless of which exam board you're taking.
