I am an avid reader and writer. I have co-authored a Psychology book and am currently authoring a second.
I also enjoy learning new skills that support my own wellbeing such as jewellery making, crocheting and acting and producing in a local amateur theatre group.
I have had a variety of experience in different roles that have all been about helping people. My early career was in Nursing, and I have worked in industry as well as more recently in academia. Therefore, I have wealth of experience to draw on and and I am passionate about supporting people to flourish and achieve their goals.
I have a PhD in Psychology and have had over 10 years experience of lecturing and providing personal tutor support to undergraduate and post graduate Psychology students. I have a post graduate certificate in teaching in higher education and am a fellow of the higher education authority. I have taught Psychology to students from foundation through to postgraduate level and have been a dissertation supervisor for both qualitative and quantitative dissertations on a range of Psychology topics at undergraduate and Masters level.
I have been a course leader for an MSc Psychology conversion and I am an external examiner for a University for their postgraduate MSc conversion . This means that I have an excellent understanding of the subject benchmark standards and the requirements for obtaining a BPS recognised degree.
I have been a personal tutor for undergraduate and MSc students and experience of providing one to one support both face to face and online.
I really enjoy supporting individuals to flourish and can help and support you with providing feedback on work, helping you to improve your academic writing, providing online lessons on psychological concepts or topics.
Happy to meet for a quick chat to see how I can help you.
