About Me
I started work in Coutts Bank and from there I was employed in various book keeping and accounting positions including financial accounting, management accounting, investment accounting and unit trust accounting. Nearly 20 years ago I trained to become a teacher and have been teaching Accounting at various levels since then. I have also tutored on a one to one basis; face to face and online. I have experience and knowledge of most exam boards and AAT.
I have two dogs so I do a lot of walking! I also dance, enjoy cake baking. I volunteer for Samaritans.
Tutor Experience
The majority of my teaching has been with international students for whom English is not their first language.
My most recent teaching has been the AQA Exam Board and prior to that OCR. Most students achieved "A" and "B" grades and gained places at LSE, Warwick and Bath.
I believe that ensuring students understand the purpose for any calculations or analysis helps them to complete all tasks successfully.
My greatest achievement from 1:1 tutoring was a student who had gained a "D" grade in his first year of A Level and then went on to gain an "A" grade in his final year.
I have also taught students on a Level 4 undergraduate course.
Whilst tutoring for Spires I have assisted undergraduate and postgraduate students in passing their Accounting modules. For me, being able to contribute to students success is a huge part of the tutoring process.

My expertise is in all aspects of Accounting to undergraduate and postgraduate levels apart from tax calculations.
