About Me
I am a teacher, tutor and published writer. I love tuition and find that when I take on a student, I often end up teaching their siblings, cousins and friends. Once I take on a student, they tend to stay with me, giving me the pleasure of seeing my students as they grow. When I am not tutoring, I am writing and when I am not writing, I am tutoring. This year I am studying, part time, at the University of Cambridge, which is very exciting and great fun.
Tutor Experience
Before I was a tutor I was a successful teacher. When I left teaching to take my MA, and focus more of my time on writing, I missed working with students, and so began tutoring. All the students I work with make good progress in school. Many make very good progress and some make astounding progress. My success stories include scholarships to Rugby School and Grammar School passes, places at University to read Medicine, A level passes at the higher grades and top GCSE passes. My approach is to reflect upon the way the student learns, to remove barriers to their understanding and to bring them success, as success leads to higher self esteem, greater motivation and more success.
