Hi! I'm Megan. I'm a fully qualified English teacher with a passion for teaching! I'm based in Liverpool and currently private tutor online whilst working for an Adult Education Charity. I am a huge fan of reading and spend most of my free time either reading or in the great outdoors exploring. I'm friendly, enthusiastic and extremely passionate about helping others.
I have taught English for around 4 years now across GCSE and A Level English Language and English Literature, mainly focusing on areas such as creative writing, exam and essay writing practice and general curriculum content. I am a fully qualified English teacher with a specialism in GCSE and A Level and have an IQA qualification in English moderation. I am fully trained in Safeguarding and Behaviour Management.
I have taught GCSE and A Level English at a local college, ESOL at a local Summer School and tutored my peers throughout my A Levels and my Undergraduate degree. I have previously worked in partnership with my University providing weekly blog posts to support students. I now provide and deliver bespoke tuition sessions online for learners looking to improve their English, build their confidence and boost their grades. I also support learners for an Adult Education Charity and provide general educational and administrative support to learners aged 19+ over across Functional Skills English and ESOL.
My pedagogy is mainly focused around creating an open, positive and collaborative learning environment, making use of various technologies and resources in order to best support learning. I believe the study of English is all about creativity, imagination and having fun along the way.. which is exactly what I aim to bring to my lessons! (Most of the time!)

Great first session on English Literature. J&H definitely demands more intricate and controversial conversations which really helps deepen for analysis. The tips on further developing my responses was very beneficial and something I will work on, through the assigned research task.
Incredibly useful feedback. My tutor was very aware of what the examiner was looking for as she has experience. It was made clear to me as well. Her ability to credit my work as well as suggest areas of improvement were invaluable and really helped me realise how well I really am doing. It was a great first session!
