About Me
I have eight years of experience teaching in a variety of schools, including two years spent working in a British school in the Dominican Republic and four years in an Independent Boarding school in the UK, where I was promoted to Head of History and Politics.
As a teacher, I encourage my students to challenge themselves to embrace differences of opinion and take part in new activities that give them a broader understanding of the world. My goal is to support them in building the skills necessary to thrive academically and professionally.Â
Tutor Experience
As a fully qualified teacher, I am experienced in planning lessons, monitoring and assessing progress, and providing detailed and targeted feedback. I am skilled in differentiating my teaching methods to best suit my students and to provide access and challenge where appropriate.
I have extensive experience teaching GCSE, IGCSE and A Level History (including AQA and Edexcel exam boards) and A Level Government and Politics (Edexcel exam board). I also have two years of experience teaching AP World History and IB Standard and Higher Level History and Global Politics. As a result, I can prepare my students for a variety of assessments effectively and with confidence.
As a 6th Form Academic Tutor in the UK, I also have experience guiding students through their university application process and in supporting them to write their CVs and Personal Statements. Having been a University Counsellor whilst teaching internationally, I am also experienced in supporting students in their application to universities in the United States.
