I am currently a DPhil (i.e. PhD) student in philosophy at New College, University of Oxford, which is funded by a full scholarship from Oxford's Faculty of Philosophy. My research centres on the topic of the limits of human thought, and engages with wider issues in metaphysics, philosophy of mind, and the history of philosophy (especially Kant and Wittgenstein). Prior to my PhD, I was at Warwick University, where I attained an MPhil in Philosophy, funded by a postgraduate scholarship for academic excellence. I also completed a BA in Philosophy and Literature at Warwick, graduating with an overall average of 80% - the highest on my course - for which I was awarded the Philosophy Examiner's Prize.
Since 2019, I have been a philosophy tutor for Debate chamber, teaching students aged 13-19 in London and online. I have taught a range of topics, including: personal identity, normative ethics, applied ethics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, distributive justice, Plato, Nietzsche.
I would be delighted to tutor undergraduates in any of the following areas of philosophy: epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of mind and language, Kant, Heidegger, continental philosophy. I may be able to help with other topics as well.
I also tutor A-level (AQA) philosophy students.
I work with students at all levels of ability and tailor my approach to each student's specific needs.
He has given me written comments on my essay and an on-line tutorial. All have been extremely helpful. Harry has a lovely manner and his way of explaining things to me as a non- academic is very encouraging. Harry’s feedback has made a significant improvement to my essay. He has given me some simple step formulae to aid my learning and essay writing skills.
Extremely helpful and encouraging feedback on my first attempt at a challenging essay. Harry's comments were easily understood, allowing me to improve further attempts.
Absolutely Brilliant, Enjoyable and Enlightening. Thank you, Harry!
