I have a First Class Honours Degree in Mathematics and Education and a doctorate: I specialised in a branch of statistics. I live in Cheltenham with my family and work as a Mathematics tutor. I enjoy running and walking as well as mathematics.
I have taught Maths for 15 years: I was Head of Maths at Bradfield College, an independent boarding school near Reading where taught A level, the IB Diploma and IGCSE. I was also the Headteacher at an Academy where I taught A level and GCSE. I have worked as a private tutor for the past 7 years. I have taught students from Year 7 - 13 of all abilities. I routinely support students taking public exams and have excellent reviews.
I am able to teacher all pupils except those at an extreme end of the ability spectrum. At the higher age and higher ability end, I am excellent at helping pupils achieve A*s in Maths and Further Maths for exam boards Edexcel & AQA and Level 7 in IB Standard level by ensuring that students really understand the theory and that they are able to apply it to solve a range of problems. At the other end, I am fantastic at lifting pupils through Common Entrance and achieving a Level 4 at GCSE. I am is very adept in supporting pupils who find Mathematics difficult. I am able to break the theory down in to manageable chunks and will steadily develop a pupil’s confidence so that sustained progress is made. I have good experience of all exam boards for GCSE.
Sally helped our twin daughters (separately) during the final run-up to their A level maths. Both were aiming for an A and were really pleased with Sally's help, not least in doing what she could to fit in with the time slots they had available. They regard her as both an excellent mathematician and teacher. The combination is rare.

Quite possibly the best teacher/tutor we have ever met!
Dr Sally is very gentle, professional and an incredibly inspiring tutor, taking the time to explain to the child clearly and carefully, adapting to their needs and discovering the areas that require improvement.
We feel very fortunate to have met Dr Sally, and our daughter's confidence in Maths has soared since she started, and she continues to nurture a real love for the subject now, she is doing very well at school entirely because of her time with Sally.
Thank you is an understatement, and inadequate actually. Our daughter really looks forward to her visits, and comes out full of enthusiasm for the subject.
Highly recommended without question.

Sally was impressive from 1st meeting, organised & prepared, but most importantly my daughter during her 1st tutorial suddenly understood a concept she has struggled with for some time! Sally is patient & looks at mathematical problems for differing views so the student is able to grasp it. Delighted!
Tracy
My daughter has found Sally very helpful. In particular she is intuitive to her weaknesses and the sessions are very personalised. She is approachable, friendly and professional, explains difficult concepts in a clear way and has already made a big difference.

Dr Sally is nice, calm and very experienced. Her teaching is excellent. She provides clear explanations that are easy to understand. She has helped my daughter to be more confident and to improve her grades significantly.
