About Me
I am a friendly tutor who tailors lessons to the specific needs of her students. We have fun but we also work hard, in order to achieve the students' goals.
Having lived and worked abroad, I understand the challenges of learning a foreign language and the cultural nuances that can arise. I also appreciate how one's life is enriched by working with people from different backgrounds and different countries.
I love to travel and meet people from around the world. When not working, I can be found in my garden and enjoying the countryside. I have 3 grown up children and 2 dogs and love spending time with them outside.
Tutor Experience
I have been tutoring for over 20 years. After a career in the law, I moved to work in a school but have been tutoring in my spare time. Whilst I have mainly worked on supporting my student's English, I have also helped with in other subject areas, in particular Law. I have worked with people of all ages and from many nationalities.
Work has included preparation for English Language and English Literature GCSE, LNAT, 11+ entrance examinations, interviews and assessments for senior schools, university applications, dissertation support, IELTS speaking exam preparation, etc
Topic Expertise
I can support in all areas of English through to GCSE papers- both Literature and Language on all exam boards. I also have experience in Law, LNAT preparation, law interview support, etc as well as spoken English for interviews, presentations and language tests including IELTS. I also help prepare students for their 11+ examinations and entry to secondary school.
