About Me
I completed my teacher training and masters' degree at the University of Cambridge in 2011 and have subsequently amassed over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring science at all levels. I have prepared students for entry to selective independent schools, supported with preparations for GCSE and A level exams and guided students in successful applications to top-ranked universities. I have experience as a Head of Biology, as an examiner for Edexcel IGCSE Biology and as a Head of Senior School. Many of these positions were in colleges that focused on private tuition and I have trained tutors in best practice for online tutoring - I have a University of Oxford qualification in Effective Online Tutoring.
As well as GCSE and A Level Biology, I also tutor all three sciences up to GCSE. Since 2019, my full time job has been teaching IB Environmental Systems and Societies but have continued to tutor British qualifications.
Outside of the classroom, I have had consultancy positions with the UK Department of Education and the Royal Society of Chemistry and sit on the British Ecological Society's Education and Careers Committee. I live with my wife and son in Oxford, where I am a primary school governor and am completing a part-time postgraduate certificate in Ecological Survey Techniques at the University of Oxford.
I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate check and have up-to-date safeguarding training.
