Online Language A: Literature and Language Tutor Rebecca

My name is Becky, and I have been tutoring online for the past 7 years alongside my current role. I have 10+ years experience in IB international schools, UK state schools and online-only schools. My tutoring sessions focus on using high-quality, scaffolded resources that I have refined over time to support students with the structuring of their assessments, in order to build their confidence in both their planning and writing. I am currently the TOK coordinator for an online IB school, and I have previously been an EE coordinator.

I privately tutor around 20-30 students per year, sometimes from the schools I have previously worked in, and I have experience of teaching students from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures having taught in the UK, Italy, and Vietnam. Often my students feel overwhelmed by the large and complex tasks and essays, especially when the deadlines are close, and I enjoy supporting my students to feel more encouraged and motivated in their subject as a whole after tutoring sessions. Sometimes my students want to increase their grade, and I use full-mark models and teach a range strategies to support them in reaching these high aspirations.
