About Me

I love teaching. Why am I different? I am very flexible, open to change, and have many years of experience with 3 different GCSE examination boards, as well as A-Level and the IB. One way to demonstrate my flexibility, is that I have taught subjects outside my degree speciality such as GCSE Religious Education, Geography and A-Level Philosophy. My most recent noteworthy professional achievement is that I assumed the lead role at my last school as the leading teacher of A-Level History. As such, I feel confident of shouldering the full responsibility and of guiding students through their examinations.

I recently took time out from teaching for 2 children and a move to Greece with my husband. I used any spare time I had, to start a series of educational children’s books centred around London’s many museums. I wrote and illustrated the series myself as an independent publisher through Amazon. This has done wonders to both expand and keep my computer skills up to date.

Tutor Experience

I have taught GCSE History for 13 years and A-Level for 10 years. I have trained as a GCSE examiner. Understanding the expectations of the examination board, has been my most valuable tool when guiding students through the revision process. In addition to this, I have taught across a range of examination boards including OCR, Edexcel and WJEC. I am familiar with the IGCSE examination, and am able to teach using online resources. I have experience working as a private tutor for both GCSE and A-Level students in the classroom and online. I have helped many students achieve their predicted level. I have successfully implemented after school revision classes at every school I have worked at.

Topic Expertise

I have experience teaching the below examination boards and subject content in the UK. Having reviewed the IGCSE syllabus, I am certain I will be more than capable of applying my previous teaching and examination experience to the syllabus. I have real GCSE examination experience having trained and and worked as an OCR examiner.
