I have a passion for teaching history. My most recent achievements are as follows: I assumed the lead role at my last school in the establishment of the new A-Level History syllabus. The borough of Richmond transferred it’s sixth form provision from Sixth form colleges to all the schools in the borough. In addition to this, I have dabbled in teaching A—Level philosophy facing a last minute staff absence at my last school.
I took time out from teaching for 2 children, I used any spare time I had, to start a series of educational children’s books centred around London’s many museums. I wrote and illustrated the series myself as an independent publisher through Amazon and with the help of my Mac.
I have 10 years experience teaching A-Level and 13 years experience teaching GCSE History. I have used both the Edexcel and OCR examination boards. I have also taught the IB programme alongside A- Levels at the Worth School. I have an excellent results record. I have successfully implemented after school revision classes at every school I have worked at. I have experience helping students with a range of abilities. In addition to this, I have worked as a private tutor for A-Level students. I have trained as an A- Level examiner to aid my teaching. Understanding the full expectations of the exam board has been a valuable tool when guiding students through the revision process.
