I am Evangelos Kotronis, an award-winning physicist in the most prestigious school in Greece with a strong passion for education and science. I hold a B.Sc. in Physics and an M.Sc. in New Technologies and Research in Physics Education from the University of Ioannina, and I'm currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Management at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. With over 17 years of teaching experience, I have the privilege of working at Athens College, where I serve as a high school physics teacher, head of science labs, and IB MYP personal project supervisor.
Throughout my career, I’ve been involved in preparing students for international science competitions, earning multiple awards both as a teacher and mentor. In addition to my teaching experience, I’ve authored several educational books on physics, focusing on fluid mechanics and gravitational fields. My passion for continuous learning is reflected in various certifications from prestigious institutions like Harvard, MIT, and the University of Pennsylvania.
In everything I do, from classroom teaching to publishing and mentoring, my goal is to inspire a new generation of scientists and thinkers.
I have amassed over 17 years of comprehensive teaching experience, primarily focused on physics education at both middle and high school levels. My career began in private tuition centers, where I taught physics and mathematics, and expanded into prestigious institutions such as Athens College, the top high school in Greece. There, I hold multiple roles including high school physics teacher, head of science labs, and IB MYP personal project supervisor.
Throughout my career, I have consistently been involved in preparing students for major national and international science competitions. This dedication has led to significant achievements, such as guiding teams to awards in global events like the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and the Greek Physicists Union competition. My role as an examiner for the Oxford Cambridge RSA and national physics exams further solidifies my expertise in standardized assessments.
In addition to teaching, I have developed educational resources, publishing works in fluid mechanics, gravitational fields, and physics formulas. These publications aim to enhance students' understanding of complex physics concepts.
Moreover, my management of science labs at Athens College has equipped me with the skills to oversee experimental setups, manage resources, and ensure safety protocols are followed—key responsibilities that contribute to the success of the science department.
With a deep commitment to lifelong learning, I have earned multiple certifications from esteemed institutions such as MIT, Harvard, and the University of Pennsylvania, enriching my teaching practice with the latest in educational technologies and pedagogical strategies. This diverse experience allows me to foster an environment where students can excel in both academic and practical applications of physics.
