I qualified as an English and Media Studies teacher in 1995 and started tutoring in 1997. I discovered I very much enjoyed teaching 1:1 and continued to tutor privately as well as teaching pupils in school settings.
I have been either teaching or providing personalised education for young people for over 25 years. I have learned a huge amount from pupils and colleagues during that time and continue to learn and hone my skills.
I love spending time with friends and family - many of whom live all over the world. To relax, I enjoy reading, swimming and walking my three dogs.
I qualified as an English and Media Studies teacher in 1995 and taught mainstream KS3 and GCSE English Language, Literature and Media Studies, and A Level English Literature.
I also privately tutored 11+ English, Maths, verbal and non verbal reasoning and GCSE English Language, Literature and Maths, and A-level Literature. The 11+ children I tutored were all successful in being accepted for the grammar schools of their choice and those taking their GCSEs and A levels were successful in achieving the grades they needed for their next steps.
I then worked as a teacher in an alternative provision academy for young people unable to attend their mainstream school due to complex medical, mental health, SEND, or behavioural needs.
In 2019 I became Head of School and subsequently Principal. I led the academy until August 2025, when I decided to step down from the role so I could devote more time to teaching.
I feel passionately about enabling all children to learn to the best of their ability, including those with complex challenges.
