About Me

I specialise in Computer Science coursework, research projects and programming-based assessments, with particular expertise in IB Extended Essays (EE), IB Internal Assessments (IA), GCSE/A Level NEA, undergraduate projects and postgraduate dissertations.

As an experienced Computer Science educator with an examiner-informed understanding of assessment criteria, I help students understand what assessors are looking for and how to demonstrate their knowledge effectively while maintaining academic integrity and ownership of their work.

For IB EE and IA, I provide structured guidance from the initial idea through to final refinement, including research question development, project planning, programming, computational solutions, analysis, testing, evaluation, technical documentation, academic writing and criterion-based feedback.

For GCSE and A Level NEA, including AQA, OCR and Edexcel, I support students with problem analysis, solution design, algorithms, programming, testing, evaluation and documentation.

I also work extensively with undergraduate and postgraduate Computer Science students, supporting programming assignments, final-year projects, research projects and dissertations. My technical areas include Python, Java, C++, SQL, databases, algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming and software development.

My teaching follows a simple “What, Why and How” approach. I break complex concepts into manageable steps and then help students apply them independently to their own work.

Whether you are aiming for a strong IB EE/IA, completing an NEA, developing a university project or working on a dissertation, every session is personalised around your course, assessment requirements and goals.

Tutor Experience

With extensive experience teaching and tutoring Computer Science across IB, GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, I specialise in supporting students with IB Extended Essays (EE), Internal Assessments (IA), NEA/coursework, programming projects, final-year projects and dissertations.

A significant part of my tutoring focuses on students undertaking major assessed projects. For IB EE and IA, I provide structured, assessment-informed guidance covering research question refinement, planning, computational solutions, programming, analysis, testing, evaluation, technical documentation and academic writing. I also provide detailed feedback against relevant assessment criteria, helping students identify exactly where their work can be strengthened while maintaining academic integrity.

For GCSE and A Level Computer Science, I support students across AQA, OCR and Edexcel, with particular expertise in NEA and programming-based coursework, alongside examination preparation.

At undergraduate and postgraduate level, I support students with programming assignments, software development, databases, algorithms, data structures, research projects, dissertations and final-year projects. My technical experience includes Python, Java, C++, SQL, OOP, database development and software/system design.

My tutoring is highly personalised. I work with students step-by-step to identify gaps, solve technical problems, debug programs, strengthen academic writing and develop the ability to explain and defend their design, programming and research decisions independently.

My goal is not simply to help students complete an assessment, but to develop the technical understanding, academic confidence and independent problem-solving skills required to succeed at school, university and beyond.

Topic Expertise

My key areas of expertise are IB Extended Essay (EE), Internal Assessment (IA), GCSE/A Level NEA, undergraduate and postgraduate Computer Science projects, programming and dissertation support.

IB Extended Essay (EE) & Internal Assessment (IA)
I provide structured, criterion-focused guidance for IB Computer Science students, from topic and research question selection through planning, development, analysis, testing, evaluation and final refinement. I help students understand assessment expectations, identify weaknesses in their work and develop stronger technical analysis while maintaining academic integrity and ownership.

GCSE & A Level NEA / Coursework
I support Computer Science NEA and programming coursework across AQA, OCR and Edexcel, including problem analysis, decomposition, algorithms, solution design, programming, testing, evaluation and technical documentation.

Undergraduate & Postgraduate Computer Science
I support university students with programming assignments, coursework, final-year projects, research projects and dissertations. This includes project planning, research methodology, software development, debugging, testing, evaluation, technical reports and presentation/viva preparation.

Programming & Technical Expertise
My technical areas include Python, Java, C++, SQL, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), algorithms, data structures, databases, computational thinking, software engineering and system development.

Exam Preparation
I also provide targeted preparation for IB Computer Science SL/HL, GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Computer Science, focusing on exam technique, command terms, scenario-based questions, pseudocode, programming and structured high-mark responses.

My goal is to help students become independent problem-solvers who can explain, justify and confidently defend the technical decisions behind their work.

Client Reviews

Tutor turned up 30 minutes. Additionally taking breaks in between lessons. This structure of tutoring is very disruptive.

Prem was helpful when explaining topics and he would take time to make sure I fully understood the topic before moving on.

Very good, and helpful! My tutor helped me out understand the basics very well, on a level I hoped to achieve when started. The pace of the lesson was really good, not too fast or too slow.

You have a real talent for teaching in a way that makes complex ideas feel clear and manageable. You always take the time to listen properly, making sure you understand exactly where I’m struggling before explaining things step by step. Nothing ever feels rushed, and that patience makes a huge difference in building confidence.

Your feedback has been extremely helpful in improving both my IA and my understanding of key exam topics. You don’t just give answers—you guide me through the thinking process, which has really helped me develop stronger design analysis and evaluation skills.

What stands out most is your commitment to making sure I actually understand the content, not just memorize it. You create a calm, supportive learning environment where it’s easy to ask questions and improve without pressure.

Overall, your teaching has had a big impact on my progress, and I genuinely appreciate the effort, time, and care you put into every session.

- Design Technology

I don't know where to give you overall feedback so i'll do it here:

Positives:
- Very easy to understand
- Goes through concepts for design very well
- Really good tips final tips for tests (which have helped me pass design with your help) could not have done it without you!

Things to work on:
- sometimes scheduling changes due to personal reasons ofcourse (but maybe it could be improved by saying it a few hours before hand)
- Also maybe a quieter environment? as there are always people in the background so sometimes I cannot hear you well. My other tutor for example takes his calls at work which is a more quiet environment.
- What helped me improve a lot was practice papers and benefitting of your answers (knowing what to say etc) so adding that to your classes could be very good
- this may be a little harsh but sometimes when giving a example or saying how a specific topic works you tend to oversimplify it which sometimes does not help with me learning topics. For example, when introducing me to a topic we waste 10 minutes or so explaining broadly what sustainability is which is too general and does not neccesarily help me in design. Basically in simple terms asking too easy questions which are easily answered.

Hope this helps! if I was too confusing just text me. Thank you so much Prem :)

- Design Technology

Extremely effective last minute IB computer science HL revision. As always I understand complex topics quickly and effectively. Techniques given are highly valuable and I would really recommend. In addition Prem’s supportive teaching style helps me to be less worried and consequently more productive and focused!
