My journey into architecture has been both challenging and highly rewarding, shaping not only my professional practice but also my approach to teaching.
I began my BA in Architecture at Central Saint Martins, UAL, where I developed a strong interest in the relationship between architecture, art, and the wider creative disciplines. Studying in such an open and collaborative environment encouraged me to approach design with curiosity and to explore different ways of developing and communicating ideas.
Following my undergraduate degree, I spent my year out gaining professional experience across Athens, London, and Barcelona. Working and living in different cities gave me valuable exposure to diverse architectural practices, cultures, and ways of thinking, while strengthening my understanding of how architecture responds to its social and cultural context.
I then returned to London to complete my Master's degree at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, further developing my architectural design skills and critical approach. Alongside my architectural education and professional development, I completed the Professional Practice course at the Architectural Association, which enabled me to qualify as a registered architect in the UK.
Throughout my education and professional experience, I have had the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with people from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines. These experiences made me increasingly interested in the value of sharing knowledge, discussing ideas, and learning through collaboration.
This curiosity and passion for learning ultimately led me towards teaching. I particularly enjoy helping students explore their ideas, develop their creative confidence, and discover their own approach to architecture. As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and engage critically with their work.
I have over six years of experience teaching and mentoring students at university and pre-university level, with a particular focus on architecture, design, portfolio development, and creative thinking.
I began my teaching career as a Visiting Critic at Central Saint Martins, contributing to BA Architecture design reviews and providing students with constructive feedback, relevant references, and critical discussion of their work. I subsequently became a Graduate Teaching Assistant, leading full-day portfolio workshops that helped students select, organise, curate, and present their drawings and project material in preparation for their final submissions.
In 2020, I became a Full-Time Tutor, working alongside a teaching partner to run one of the Vertical Design Studios within the BA Architecture course. I delivered weekly one-to-one design tutorials to a cohort of 18 second- and third-year students, supporting them throughout the design process, from developing initial concepts and research through to refining and presenting their final projects.
Since December 2021, I have also been tutoring IB Visual Arts Higher Level students, helping them develop the creative, analytical, and technical skills required for their examinations. I support students in developing conceptual ideas, strengthening their critical thinking, identifying relevant artistic and architectural references, and building a coherent body of work.
I particularly enjoy helping students prepare for university by developing their confidence, independence, and ability to communicate ideas clearly. My approach is supportive and collaborative, while encouraging students to question, experiment, and develop their own creative voice.

"During the overwhelming process of college admissions, I had the chance to work with Flavie. We researched many artistic topics and artists, to finally decide which ones to use for my art portfolio. I remember being anxious about my college applications, as I wanted to apply to Parsons and other competitive and prestigious art schools in the US, however, with her help I feel more than sure and confident with what I've created. Furthermore, she helped me generate my essay for NYU, Yale, and other Ivy League schools and to open up as much as I can to write an amazingly impressive essay. I would definitely recommend her not only because the results of our work are amazing, but also because it's really fun and interesting working with her."

"My experience with Flavie as my tutor was incredible. She helped me a lot with my personal statement, giving me ideas and thus improving the writing. After the personal statement, we started working on my portfolio and Flavie was amazing. She helped me come up with ideas for new projects and also for working on existing projects. Flavie was essential to my application and helped me a lot with it."

"I was fortunate to find Flavie and work with her throughout the admissions process for my bachelor's degree program. Since I had to create my portfolio from scratch, we had only four months to complete it, which might have seemed impossible, but not for Flavie. Throughout our collaboration, Flavie gave me a lot of advice, feedback and support. During challenging times, when I felt overwhelmed, she was always there to cheer me up and help me stay focused. It was very easy to progress project by project, as Flavie helped to develop my ideas or provided perfect examples for inspiration, making our work both efficient and exciting.
During the portfolio stage, Flavie also explained a lot about how to work with the layout and essential advice on organising the portfolio to ensure it was perceived in the best possible way. Overall, the portfolio was very thought out, from the concept for each project to the layout and representation of each project itself.
Together, we created a personal statement, portfolio, and preparatory materials for the interview that fully showcased my interests and personality. Thanks to her guidance, I felt thoroughly prepared and confident during the interview stage.
I greatly appreciated working with a professional like Flavie. It was an incredible experience, and what is also very important is that she made me feel even more inspired by my future profession."
