About Me
I am a Primary School Teacher with over 16 years teaching experience in Ireland, the UK, Sweden, Germany and Colombia. I have worked as a mainstream classroom teacher teaching all primary school subjects. Over the past five years as a special education teacher supporting students with additional needs. I am currently studying for a Masters in Special and Inclusive Education.
I am also a Research Supervisor on the Professional Master of Education (PME) for Hibernia College Dublin. As part of my post I support students in completing their dissertation through regular contact and support.
Tutor Experience
I have over 16 years of experience working as a teacher in disadvantaged schools in Dublin, Ireland
as well as in England, Germany, Colombia and Sweden. This experience has made me more flexible in my
teaching approaching ensuring all lessons were child centred and adapted to the learning abilities
and needs of each individual child. During my teaching career I have worked collaboratively with
other teachers to deliver Math and English power-hour to all ages in primary school ensuring that
despite limited resources children’s capabilities were developed and nurtured.
I have helped to plan and deliver Maths Recovery, Jolly Grammar, Toe by Toe as well as Social and Emotional Programme supports across the school.
In addition to the day-to-day classroom work, I have also spent a lot of time collaborating and
liaising with families, government sectors and local support groups in relation to child protection
issues. Through my Incredible Years Programme training I was able to support and encourage
parents and other teachers to develop positive reinforcement mechanisms in relation to child
behavioural issues.
Outside of school I have tutored students in the areas of Literacy and Maths both in person
and online.
Topic Expertise
I have a keen interest in Maths and Literacy and love to see students succeed. I am currently studying for a Masters in special Educational and inclusion to help further develop my expertise.
I am experienced in Dissertation supervision at Masters level.
