About Me
I am an experienced teacher with a passion for helping students to develop and be the best that they can be. I have been private tutoring for 7 years and have got a great results history with pupils.
My interests when I am not tutoring is spending time with my family, baking, cycling and gardening. I am not one for sitting still.
With my growing family I have decided to take a more focussed role in online tutoring to get the most out of my job and dedicating time to make a happy home.
I hope to meet some of you soon to help you for-fill your learning journey.
Tutor Experience
I am currently in my 10th year of teaching and still have the same amount of passion as the day I began. I Teach Physics up to A-Level (AQA and OCR) but have access to other exam papers as practice. At GCSE I have taught AQA and OCR so have many resources for both. I have taught through the changes to the exam specifications and examination process.
I have taught a range of pupils from pupils needing support in one area to whole syllabus and extended learning. I also have experience with pupils with additional educational needs and English as a second language. Ages 11-18 taught.
Recently I have been on an astronomy course to help gain further knowledge, for the astronomy part of the physics exam.
As well as completing my masters in education I have taken part in a middle leaders course, I have done exam marking so it is clear to see my passion to help young people to achieve their best.
In July 2020 I achieved lead practitioner status.
Online lessons are progressing as we have all seen a change in teaching over the last 12 months. Sessions vary from me screen sharing, to using the whiteboard to help with calculations.
Topic Expertise
Physics is what I have been predominantly teaching for the past 2 years but have taught all science to GCSE.
At GCSE I have taught a range of syllabuses and have many examples of exam preparation for each.
I am able to turn difficult scientific concepts into more manageable analogies to get the best of a pupils understanding.
