My expertise includes supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students on-line with all aspects of essay/ dissertation/ thesis preparation; my research knowledge and skills are transferable and so I am able to help students across a wide range of disciplines develop appropriate skills and apply them as necessary for their own purposes.

I am friendly and outgoing and have worked in many research teams and with many different types of students of varying backgrounds and from different parts of the world, including West and Southern Africa, India and Hong Kong. I am very flexible and always aim to support students in the way that suits them best so that they can meet the required academic criteria. i have a clinical background in midwifery and was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Interprofessional Care from 2014-2021. I also have an extensive track record of peer-reviewed journal publications and conference proceedings, either as lead or contributing author - a full list is available at https://uwe-repository.worktribe.com/person/790283/katherine-pollard/outputs
I have been teaching research methods and supporting both undergraduates and postgraduates with research-based dissertations and academic writing since 2004. Much of this support has been conducted on-line over the last five years.
I have extensive experience of helping students construct coherent essays which demonstrate logical argument and critical thinking. A significant proportion of my on-line students have not been native English-speakers, and I have been able to help them hone and refine their writing.
Over the last 20 years, I have developed considerable expertise in helping students make sense of research terminology and principles; I always strive to make the subject accessible and I have always had good feedback from students, many of whom are required to pass research methods modules despite a lack of any particular interest in the subject itself.
My teaching is underpinned by 20 years' experience of conducting research, including: questionnaire construction and testing; a range of qualitative approaches - case study, discourse analysis, thematic enquiry; quantitative research involving the use of statistics at a basic level; mixed-methods research; and evaluation methods, including realist evaluation. I have also been able to help students to prepare papers for publication.
Very clear and helpful feedback, I would highly recommend to others.
Really enjoyed it...And I gained a lot of info m, catering to me learning style, and level
Kathy helped me with my PhD research proposal to make it better and coherent. I am grateful for her support. My proposal is accepted by the university supervisor. Kathy's guidance helped me to improve my proposal and greatly thankful for this.
