I am a law subject specialist with over a decade of legal experience in professional practice. I was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 2014 and worked as a Court Advocate specialising in contract and property law for 2 years before studying for my PhD. I have worked for 7 years as a self-employed Legal Advisor, assisting and advising start-up companies and SMEs on a range of issues surrounding company and commercial law. Upon completion of my PhD, I joined a Top-10 UK law firm with offices around the world, specialising in negligence and civil litigation.
Outside of work, I have a great passion for international travel, and I have lived, studied and worked in countries around the world, most recently Taiwan and Spain. I have combined my love of travel with a continuing study of the law, completing my PhD in Spain and my Masters in European and International Business Law in Austria.
It is during my own studies that I have supported myself by tutoring other students. I really enjoy meeting people from all around the world, and learning about their own unique stories, cultures, and ambitions. I am friendly and approachable, and my communication style is clear, engaged, and informative. I have successfully tutored both undergraduate and post-graduate students across a range of law modules, and I am proud to have achieved significant success in helping other students to attain their academic goals.
I have been tutoring other students since 2016 when I began my doctoral studies in Spain. My face-to-face students were colleagues from university and their referrals, most of whom spoke English as a second language. I tutored on a range of elective UK and international law modules contained within their broader degrees. I additionally tutored students online, the majority of whom were UK law students seeking tutoring across particular modules of interest or the entire academic year.
Over the years of completing my own PhD studies, I have tutored students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, guiding them through complex legal topics whilst also providing broader academic support with effective note-taking, reading case law, essay writing and exam preparation. My students have consistently highlighted the clarity, patience, and methodical approach I bring to tutoring sessions, alongside the confidence they gain in tackling both coursework and examinations.
My approach to tutoring is highly tailored to the needs of the student, whether you require assistance with particular subjects or modules, or more complete and holistic tutoring across the entire academic year or degree. Similarly, as well as focusing on subject knowledge, I aim to assist students in developing their analytical and critical thinking skills which are essentially to mastering the subject of law. I place a strong emphasis on breaking down complex legal concepts into accessible, structured explanations, before encouraging students to apply their own understanding through discussion, case analysis, and working through practical examples.
Whether working on refining your dissertation, strengthening exam technique, or mastering difficult legal subjects, I create a supportive and engaging learning environment which equips each student to excel in their studies.
