I have taught for 30+ years at all levels from secondary school through to supervising doctoral students. I most enjoy one-to-one teaching, and am in my second year of private tutoring, both face to face and online. I understand that all learners are different, and I have supported students from many diverse backgrounds. Academic writing is a skill that can be taught and learnt, and I have a strong track record in helping students of all abilities to achieve their educational goals.

I have given advice on many extended essays, assignments and dissertations and I am an experienced examiner from Level 3 (A level and equivalent) through to Masters and Doctoral theses. I have assessed many university personal statements, and provided guidance on interview technique for university entrance and job applications. I have taught Masters and supervised doctoral students at the Universities of Worcester, Bristol, City U Hong Kong, Open University, and University of Sunderland. I was Chair of the Research Degrees Board at the University of Worcester for six years.
