About Me

Please note: I am offering intensive revision lessons during half term.

I am a Human, Social and Political Sciences graduate from the University of Cambridge (BA Hons, 2022) and hold a Masters in Creative Non-Fiction from the Royal College of Art (2024), where I developed both my academic and creative writing. Throughout my studies I consistently achieved first-class marks in essays and dissertations, and I now use that experience to help students develop the skills needed to succeed in exams, coursework and university applications.

Alongside my studies, I completed research projects recognised by leading universities. In 2019, I delivered award-winning research at Cardiff University exploring the transition from secondary school to college. I was also awarded a fully funded place on Bath University’s Social Sciences course, where I accessed research facilities and attended lectures and workshops led by experts in the field. My academic background also includes outstanding A-level results, achieving full UMS in all Psychology exams alongside an A+ in Sociology and an A in English Literature.

During university, I worked as a mentor with Zero Gravity, supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds with applications to top universities. I also worked within university outreach and access programmes aimed at widening participation in Russell Group institutions. These experiences strongly shape my approach to tutoring.

I have extensive tutoring experience across a wide range of levels, from supporting KS2 students with spelling and literacy to helping undergraduate and Masters students structure and complete dissertations. My lessons focus on building confidence, strengthening critical thinking, and giving students clear strategies they can apply in exams and coursework.

Tutoring is my full-time profession and something I genuinely love. I carefully plan engaging lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I hold an enhanced DBS check and have full availability to start immediately.

Tutor Experience

I have over 100 hours of tutoring experience, teaching pupils of varying abilities and levels work closely alongside my students to make my lessons applicable, accessible and expertly designed.

I am to instil confidence in my students, and empower them with constructive feedback, practice tests, discussion based learning and interactive lessons.

During my own time at Cambridge, I worked in the access and outreach department, so have insider knowledge of the application process.

I also have extensive experience working with students who have additional learning needs.

Client Reviews

Liv found this session really useful and feels sessions with you will help her. Thanks

Just wanted to take time out to recommend Renee to anyone looking for support with Creative Writing. My son was supported by Renee where she spent time reading his creative writing pieces, making comments and teasing out from him ways that he can improve the submitted pieces. Even grammatical errors were addressed and suggested academic sites were given. Today, my son graduated with a Master's Degree in Creative Writing. We are very thankful for Renee’s input.
