I aim to make my lessons interactive and accessible. Because I work frequently with visually impaired learners I am keen to ensure all materials and activities are student friendly and accessible. I like to have conversations about what works for individual students so that lessons can be tailored specifically. I enjoy getting to know my students well to enable me to teach them effectively. I have taught in mainstream schools, and also SEN environments. I have also supported students one to one with functional English skills and been a private tutor to KS3,4 & 5 students.
GCSE/IGCSE English and A Level English: All exam boards
Functional English: Pearson
GCSE/IGCSE and A Level Drama: I have taught all exam boards and have contributed to text books for Edexcel. As an ex Stage Manager I have an excellent knowledge of the technical theatre options.
We highly recommend Lucy as a tutor. She is a dedicated , knowledgeable , patient and flexible. A pleasant and kind person.
Very skilful lositive and encouraging lesson thanks
My daughter has been working with Lucy for a couple of months now. Her grades have shot up, her knowledge of the material and understanding of the marking criteria has improved, but most of all, she loves the sessions they have together. Lucy is patient, understanding of neurodiverse issues, and all round an excellent teacher.
Lucy is an A* Tutor who is incredibly supportive and amazing at bringing out the best in your child. My daughter has grown in confidence and finds Lucy style of teaching easy to understand and has learnt and improved so much in a short period of time. Goes above and beyond:)
Great thanks

Hi Lucy, just wanted to say a huge thank you for your support. I came to you scraping Cs and Ds and we managed to get an A*! So thank you for always working with me and always pushing me up the grade boundaries. Couldn’t have done it without you. (A Level English Literature AQA 2022)
