Shubh $50-60/hr

Major in Economics - Delhi School of Economics

I have been teaching Economics, Statistics and Econometrics since I was in college, 6 years ago. After leaving college, I became a full-time professional tutor. I have worked with students who were complete beginners, as well as those who were facing challenges in mastering advanced topics.

I completely understand the initial struggle in decoding the concepts and formulas. I am adept in breaking down these concepts so that students can understand them. I use simple examples so that students can make sense of these topics. I don't encourage memorization and simply recalling the formulas, instead, I focus on the 'why' and 'how'.

I understand that every student has a different way of understanding things. Some students understand the concepts when explained through analogies, others when shown mathematical foundation behind them. I modify my teaching methodology depending on what the student is comfortable with.

Shubh's last completed Postgraduate job with Djan: Intensive - I'm a Postgraduate Money, Banking and Finance student (Business Econmics Bsc) with minimal Econometrics experience. I would like a tutor who will go through my lectures and seminar exercises with me.
I'm currently using "Gujarti Essentials of Econometrics" textbook, 1 of the 5 recommended text books.
I have uploaded the first 3 lectures and seminar exercises.
Kind regards,

Amy $60-70/hr

BA/MA English, Drama and Education - University of Cambridge

I have tutored GCSE, A-level, Degree and Doctorate-level students on a range of subjects, although my main focus has been Psychology, Sociology, academic writing skills, Business Studies and Research Methods. I have written model essays for exam boards, proofread and edited work to be published, and worked on many dissertations and PhDs with university students.

For Psychology and Sociology, I adopt a systematic approach, and generally like to go over the material thoroughly, testing the student throughout, and spend time on previous exam papers and questions, planning essay answers, discussing how theories relate to real-life situations etc. I sometimes mind-map various themes and ideas with the student, and think outside the box as it were, to make sure that the ideas stem from the student's own work and thinking - so that they can remember it more fully and develop it in future (often students have more knowledge, ideas and insight than they realise, it just needs coaxing out of them!). I often tutor on coursework as well as examination preparation.

Amy's last completed Postgraduate job with Sarah: 1-2 hrs/week - I am struggling with my masters essay for my PGCE and need some help!

Amy's last review in Postgraduate from Mel: Cog essay and BN essay overview Excellent, helpful, professional, patient

Ramsay $70-80/hr

I hold a Bachelors degree from queen Margaret University in pharmacology, a MSc in Cancer Therapeutics from Barts and the London School of Medicine and I currently finishing my PhD from Barts Cancer Institute. I have a vast experience of teaching at all levels and currently teach two days a week.

Ramsay's last completed Postgraduate job with marli : Over 2 hrs/week - I have two assignments in my research design and analysis for neuroimaging (fmri).
I need help starting the assignment, and help provide assistance.

thank you

Ramsay's last review in Postgraduate from marli : An absolute joke. money-back NOT guaranteed. The lesson was not helpful, he agreed with everything I had written down, suggested only two things to add to my design but failed to explain either of them.. after doing research on my own, one definitely doesnt work and the other is irrelevant and will not strengthen my design. Upon asking for a refund since it stated "money back of you're not satisfied", I felt attacked and he refused for all the " work" he put in. He did more talking post-session when he tried to explain why he isn't providing a refund than throughout the entire session we had. Of the 51 minute session, he spent 10 minutes reading on his computer and failed to explain or support the reason for what material he was reading. Only post session upon inquiring for a refund he suggested things that was "incorrect" with my design which frustrated me as he did not say a word during the session. I felt he was ill prepared, and unhelpful.
