I hold a Bachelors degree from queen Margaret University in pharmacology, a MSc in Cancer Therapeutics from Barts and the London School of Medicine and I currently finishing my PhD from Barts Cancer Institute. I have a vast experience of teaching at all levels and currently teach two days a week.
I tutored many students during my PhD, from school leavers wanting lab experience to tutoring fellow PhD candidates in sterile tissue culture techniques. The longest tutoring project I have undertaken was supervising a third year medical student for his intercalated BSc in Physiology. He won the prize for top project in his year (mainly due to his hard work and dedication) and was a joy to teach and really fuelled my interest in nurturing younger minds. More recently I tutored a young man who wanted to take his GCSE a year early; his spoken French was excellent but the writing was letting him down. I identified his weaknesses and we worked on those to raise his grade to an 8 overall.
I am a biomedical research scientist with over 10 years experience of teaching in universities and over 5 years experience of online tutoring. I have delivered lectures and tutorials on a wide range of biomedical topics at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the UK and Canada. I have supervised BSc project students and proofread numerous PhD and MSc theses, as well as acting as an examiner in mock PhD vivas. I have helped many biomedical undergraduate and PhD students to improve their writing and critical analysis and gain top marks. Recently, I helped a biochemistry student at the University of Glasgow with learning difficulties.
I have also tutored many GCSE students in Science and Maths with the main examboards being AQA and Edexcel.

Over the past two years I have carried out over one hundred hours of tuition covering GCSE Science, A-level Science, BMAT, UCAT, personal statements, mock interviews (panel, MMI and Oxbridge) and supercurricular medicine. Through this I have developed effective teaching strategies and resources for the students. Many of my students have gone on to achieve Oxbridge offers and all have achieved at least one medical school offer. I've tutored students to GCSE level for 3 years and am good at explaining unfamiliar concepts. I invested a lot of time during my A Levels to make sure I really understood concepts and that has given me a really good scientific grounding which I can use to help students. I aim to break complex problems into manageable chunks and ensure that students can fully understand each step.
