My teaching style is dynamic and engaging, using a variety of exercises to make lessons enjoyable and effective. I’m fascinated by how diverse minds learn and make it a priority to understand each student’s unique learning style, adapting my approach to meet their specific needs.
In 2024, I received a late diagnosis of ADHD and a chronic illness, which deepened my commitment to supporting students facing similar challenges. Having struggled with anxiety during my own GCSEs and A Levels, I bring a compassionate, empathetic approach to exam support, helping students manage stress and reach their potential.
I firmly believe that effective tuition is rooted in strong relationships. I take the time to learn about my students' interests beyond school, using these to enrich their learning experience. Known for my empathy and intuition, I have a proven track record of building rapport quickly and supporting students beyond academics.
Outside of teaching, I’m an avid reader and writer, passionate about inspiring the next generation of storytellers. I also enjoy watching (and analysing—I am an English teacher after all!) a variety of film and TV. My ginger cat, Ginny (named after my favourite childhood character, Ginny Weasley) often makes cameo appearances during lessons.
I’m a fully qualified English and Drama teacher with classroom experience in inner-London schools, praised for quickly building rapport and tailoring support to individual needs.
As a tutor over the past three years, I’ve maintained a 100% pass rate, helping students exceed their target grades and gain confidence. Notable successes include an ESL student improving from a predicted D to two GCSE grade Bs in two months, and a SEND A Level student progressing from a predicted D to an A.
I have experience with a range of learners, including high achievers, SEND, SEMH, and ESL students, and am particularly passionate about SEND. As an ICF-trained mental health and academic coach, I take a holistic, student-centred approach, focusing on confidence, resilience, and long-term success.

I have extensive experience teaching English from KS3 to KS5 and at the undergraduate level, maintaining a 100% exam pass rate. From Summer 2025, I will be marking GCSE exams and plan to further develop my assessment skills throughout the academic year. I regularly meet with an English subject mentor and engage in SEND-specific CPD to continuously refine my teaching strategies. Committed to a long-term career in tutoring, I have supported some of my students through GCSE, A Level, and even into their undergraduate studies.
Key Stage 3: I teach both English and Drama, covering poetry, prose, creative writing, and devising performances. My focus at this stage is on nurturing creativity and a love of learning while building strong foundations for GCSE success.
GCSE: I specialise in supporting SEND, SEMH, and ESL learners, helping students move from grades 3–4 to 5–6+, including resit candidates. My approach is tailored, compassionate, and results-driven.
A Level: I support students aiming for top grades, offering targeted guidance on coursework, exam technique, and essay structure.
IB: I work with IB English students to excel in their Extended Essays, Higher Level essays, and Internal Orals. I have successfully supported EEs in English, Drama, and Art, and I’m keen to expand this support to History and other humanities subjects.
University Entrance: I offer personal statement coaching (including UCAS), with all students securing places at their first-choice universities.
Undergraduate: I assist Literature undergraduates with essays and dissertations, specialising in modern, postcolonial, feminist, American and queer literature.
Working with Daisy on my dissertation has been an intellectually transformative and genuinely uplifting experience! Her support has not only strengthened the final shape of my work but has fundamentally deepened the way I think, write, and engage with academic material.
One of Daisy's greatest strengths lies in her ability to demystify structure. She helped me to see my argument as an evolving architecture - one that needed both clarity and flexibility and guided me, with great patience and precision, in building a logical and compelling argument . Her feedback on the shape and flow of my chapters was consistently perceptive, ensuring that each section served a clear purpose within the broader thesis.
Equally invaluable was Daisy's help in navigating secondary criticism. Rather than simply encouraging citation, she taught me how to engage with key theorists, and build upon their claims, and to situate my voice meaningfully within an existing body of scholarship. This has entirely changed the way I approach academic writing.
Beyond her academic expertise, Daisy brings an exceptional calm, clarity, and kindness to each meeting.
Her belief in my potential never wavered, even when mine did. She offered exactly the right combination of challenge and reassurance, and I always left our sessions feeling both intellectually stretched and emotionally steadied.I am deeply grateful for her guidance, and truly could not have asked for a more insightful, generous, and inspiring tutor.
Daisy has been my English tutor for the past 1.5 years, and I couldn't be more grateful for her support. She has helped me with IB English Language and Literature SL, and even stepped in to give detailed feedback on my Extended Essay when my own supervisors couldn't. Working with Daisy has always been a great experience as she's not only incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but also kind and a joy to learn with. I've always looked forward to our lessons (especially when her cat made surprise appearances). Before working with Daisy, I struggled with writing essays. But thanks to her guidance and support, I've improved so much and now feel more confident in my abilities. I believe it's really important to have a tutor who not only helps you but also builds a personal connection with you, and Daisy does exactly that. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a supportive, fun, and skilled English tutor :)
Today has been my (maybe) last lesson Daisy - she is incredibly kind and effective, and immensely helped to improve my coursework. I will surely be contacting her again if I need further help with my English Literature A Level exam preparation. Highly recommend!
Daisy is an amazing tutor! With her knowledgeable perceptiveness and personalised lessons, she has really helped me to perfect my English Literature coursework, and she even squeezes me in when I have any last minute deadlines to meet. Also a pro at cutting down wordcount on coursework.
Really helpful!!
Daisy was very clear with the services she provides and immediately gave me detailed feedback on my dissertation. She was extremely friendly and immediately made me feel comfortable! I cannot wait for our first tutoring session!
Daisy is a brilliant tutor to my son,he has learned so much from her support for his study of A Level English Literature. She is highly recommended.
Daisy is an amazing teacher and is really inspiring our daughter with her literature and creative writing. We are living in France and want her to sit her English gcse and Daisy is enabling this, and keeping up her passion for English.
Daisy is an amazing teacher! I came into an international school and had very little background in english language especially in literature. However I started having classes with Daisy in grade 10 and started improving and went from having 3 and 4 to 6 and 7 as I skipped grade 9 and attended only grade 10 I only had one year to prepare for the exams of a 2 year programme however Daisy prepared me so well that I scored both A’s on my language and literature exams I can confidentially say that I enhanced my skills in english so much. She is also really supportive and kind and always come to class with a positive mindset and ready to help. Best tutour I had so far.
Daisy's teaching is both engaging and effective, thanks to her personalised approach. She has been great in giving me constructive feedback about my weak areas in English. This has helped improve my analysis of texts and the structure of my writing. Additionally, as a student taking International A-levels, she has shown me her broad understanding of different exam boards, displaying how she also personalises the way she teaches to meet my exam board's specific requirements. Through Daisy’s lessons I have developed skills that make my writing stronger and have gained more confidence in my abilities as an English student.

Parent, GCSE
SEND Student: From D to B
Daisy is truly unique, the bond she has formed with my daughter over the past three years has been incredibly special. She was predicted a D at the start of her GCSE year. Through her hard work and determination with Daisy, she managed to get a B in both Literature and Language. Daisy is just an incredible teacher: so likeable, warm and fun. My daughter would be lost without Daisy's amazing support.
