I gained my First Class undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2013 followed by a Distinction in my Master’s degree in Health Psychology in 2014. I then embarked on my teaching and academic research career in the field of applied health psychology and medicine as a PhD student at the University of Manchester. I am a mixed methods researcher (qualitative and quantitative) and I have conducted and published many systematic reviews. I am involved in designing, delivering and marking Undergraduate and Postgraduate work in my institution.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and I am an experienced educator with a growing portfolio of teaching and supervising Psychology students at Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral levels on British Psychological Society accredited courses. I also teach on Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy related subjects. I have privately tutored over 50 Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, assisting with academic writing style (for both essays and dissertation projects/reports), structure, content/theoretical discussions and methodological support. I have designed and delivered teaching in large lectures as well as small group seminar and reading formats, as well as individual sessions, both in person and online. I have directly taught modules on cognitive, biological and developmental psychology, health psychology, social psychology, qualitative research methods in applied contexts, statistics and psychological research methods, the evolution of behaviour and cognition, reflection and understanding health. I have supervised several BSc, MSc and PhD projects to completion and provide additional support in terms of delivery and marking to academic programmes. I am an academic advisor and mentor for undergraduate and postgraduate students to support with pastoral issues alongside academic related concerns.
