I have 5 years of teaching experience as a science teacher and have a strong interest in social and educational research, particularly those concerning educational inequalities, diversity, and science education.
As a teacher, my strength lies in my lesson planning. I found students often struggle with their exam techniques, so I am always very careful in ensuring students through my teaching understand how to write good exam answers using correct scientific keywords to maximize the number of marks they can score from the mark scheme. I am particularly familiar with the AQA GCSE Combined Science/Triple science specification and syllabus. I like to make links between the student's everyday life and their science learning so they can find the contents more relatable and enjoyable. I am also very experienced in differentiation and scaffolding in my lessons having taught students of a diverse range of abilities.
I can also speak and write fluent Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
I completed my PGCE and obtained my QTS in 2017, and have been a secondary school science teacher in London for 5 years. I have experience in teaching KS3 to KS4 science classes and A-Level Chemistry. The classes I taught included top sets and foundation classes. I also have many experiences teaching and working with students with a diverse range of special educational needs with a significant number of them passing at the GCSE level or meeting/exceeding their target grades. Throughout my teaching career, I have built many strong relationships with students and parents in my school and received much praise for my teaching practice.
I was a sixth-form tutor for four years and have great experience in guiding students through their university applications and the writing of their UCAS personal statements. I also have been a PGCE mentor and have mentored several student teachers/early career teachers.
In addition, I have had previous experiences tutoring students in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics in prestigious institutions as well as experience in IB.

Personal statement
Yeung was very friendly and provided me with a lot of insightful information about unis. We were able to edit my PS successfully. Great chatting with you, thanks!
Yeung was extremely helpful in writing my UCAS personal statement (only took us an hour and a half to write it from scratch). Clearly extremely experienced and I recommend to anybody applying through UCAS!!
very good
One of the best tutors so far. Boosted my CV and gave me helpful advice on how to improve my application. I am very pleased with the lesson.
Great lesson. Thank you
Very helpful and clear. Great with personal statements and answering general questions about UCAS.
Yeung has helped my son grow in confidence with his chemistry and physics. From really struggling to grasp the concepts Yeung has been diligent in growing his understanding. He is now confident in class and loves answering questions and getting them right. Yeung is a wonderful science tutor! -Kate
